Scorecarding

La "Scorecard approach", historiquement, fut introduite en 1996 par l'Université d'Harvard par Robert S. Kaplan et David P. Norton la "Balanced Scorecard" est un outils de management stratégique particulièrement performant à l'usage des managers de direction.

Le Scorecarding s'appuie sur deux concepts fondamentaux :

Une carte stratégique, permettant de lister les objectifs stratégiques de l'entreprise à partir de 4 perspectives : financières et clients (domaine du court terme), processus et savoir-faire (domaine moyen et long terme)
Un tableau sur lequel on placera les différents indicateurs de suivi et leur cible chiffrée pour chaque objectif stratégique

Un des grands mérites de l'outil est de mettre en cohérence de manière la plus exhaustive possible :

- Stratégie de l'entreprise,
- Indicateurs des tableaux de bord
- Projets en cours et développements

Il répond ainsi aux attentes du personnel notamment dans le déploiement des projets, surtout si vous utilisez des méthodes de management orientées projets comme la méthode Six Sigma.


Scorecarding, made popular by Kaplan and Norton and the Balanced Scorecard Consortium, is still seen as an executive or senior management tool. Stories abound of scorecarding projects which fail to deliver tangible benefits or are only implemented a couple of levels down in an organisation. That doesn’t need to be the case.

Often the block to effective scorecard implementations is identifying the correct KPI’s. We all know that “you get what you measure”, hence the reluctance to roll-out scorecards to a wider audience without confidence over the choice of the KPI’s. Chosing the correct KPI’s at every level in the organisation requires an intimate understanding of the operation of the business. Nimbus control-ES provides that process context. 

We now offer scorecarding functionality based on Microsoft Business Scorecard Manager 2005. This scorecarding functionality is fully integrated into the process, document, compliance and action management capabilities of FINBRAIN-ITC control-ES to provide an integrated Performance Management solution. Metrics, processes, roles and responsibilities are all presented in one coherent picture which everyone in the business can access and understand, with an auditable history of all changes.

However, we understand that with many projects, pinpointing Key Performance Indicators is still the easiest way of engaging senior management. Therefore many project start with just scorecarding, which is why we implement Microsoft Business Scorecard Manager 2005 in standalone projects where control-ES is not implemented.
